Peaceful Rally and Prayers Planned for Standing Rock on Dec. 5

The Peaceful Prayer Circle/Rally for Stand with Standing Rock is scheduled for Monday, December 5th from 10:30am until 1:00pm at Generations Park. December 5th, 2016 marks the date of the Army Corps of Engineers who have sent an official eviction notice to the Standing Rock – No Dakota Access Pipeline. The rally will start at 10:30am until noon with invited speakers, Water Protectors who have visited Standing Rock as well as Akwesasne community youth and elders.

Soon after, the Peaceful Rally will continue at Route 37 at the entrance of Generations Park and Recycling Center. At press time, over thirty Peacekeepers from Akwesasne have volunteered their time to ensure the safety of all participants in this peaceful rally. The Peacekeepers will be identified wearing purple ribbons on both arms. According the Steven Thompson Oakes, "I'm calling out for more Peacekeepers, if you feel you're responsible enough for the position please contact myself or Jesse Beeson before the December 5th Peaceful Rally."

Following the Peaceful Rally for one hour (12pm to 1pm) everyone is invited to partake in traditional music and social.

Thompson stressed this rally will be peaceful and encourages all who participant to arrive in a good frame of mind, "We want this Rally to be peaceful, safe, and most of all show the world that the surrounding areas and the Akwesasne people stand with Standing Rock. I'm calling out my family, I'm calling out to your family, I'm calling out to our grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers, fathers, uncles, brothers, sisters, all Akwesasne YOUTH. I'm calling out the Mohawk Nation Longhouses Chiefs, Clan Mothers and Faithkeepers, the Kaienerakowa Longhouse, the MCA Chiefs and employees, SRM Tribe Chiefs and employees, Chambers of Commerce, all local businesses, the schools, local churches, to all, step up and stand together. I'm CALLING OUT EVERYONE, in and around Akwesasne, to stand in solidarity in this Peaceful Rally and Prayer Circle to show support and strength for our Water Protectors that are Standing Strong in Standing Rock.

Over two thousand veterans have signed to attend the Standing Rock protest on December 5, 2016. Thompson-Oakes continues to organize and fund travel money to Standing Rock. He is currently working with several nurses from Ottawa, en ex-police officer from Massena and several veterans from the North Country to attend the December 5th Water Protectors rally at Standing Rock.

Right now we have gathered over thirty, and rising peacekeepers from all over Akwesasne, Peacekeepers who will be wearing a purple ribbon on both arms (color of peace). These Peacekeepers will be put in place to ensure the safety of our peaceful rally as well as our protectors. With that being said, I'm calling out for more Peacekeepers, if you feel you're responsible enough for the position please contact myself or Jesse Beason before the December 5th Peaceful Rally. Following our one hour Peaceful Rally at the road from 12:00 (noon) till 1 pm, everyone will be invited back to Generations Park to partake in traditional music and social.

Again, I'm looking for Peacekeepers for Akwesasne's very own Peaceful Rally and Prayer Circle on December 5th; if you would like to volunteer be one of the Peacekeepers, please contact myself or Jesse Beeson. We want this Rally to be peaceful, safe, and most of all show the world that the surrounding areas and us Akwesasne people that we stand with Standing Rock. I'm calling out my family, I'm calling out your family, I'm calling out grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers, fathers, uncles, brothers, sisters, all the YOUTH. I'm calling out the Tribe workers, the Chambers of Commerce, both Long Houses, our MCA workers, all local business, the schools, local church's, the Chiefs, the Clan Mothers to all step up and stand together. I'M CALLING OUT EVERYONE, in and around Akwesasne, to stand in solidarity in this Peaceful Rally and Prayer Circle to show support and strength for our Water Protectors that are Standing Strong in Standing Rock.

We are all connected to one another through one thing, and that is the water we all drink everyday! We're all human that's for certain, come together we deserve it!
