DAVID LEONARD SWAMP "KARONIASE"

AKWESASNE – Mr. David Leonard Swamp “Karoniase”, 77, unexpectedly passed away Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2016 at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Lenny was born October 3, 1939 in Akwesasne, the eldest son of the late Leo and Charlotte Papineau Swamp. He was an ironworker and served in the US Army. He was married Rosemary “Marina” Chrisjohn, who predeceased him on May 7, 2009.

Leonard is survived by three sons, John “Tony” and Kamie Swamp, Steven Swamp, and Allen and Delores Swamp; his grandchildren, Tehya, Shawn, Jessica, Leon, Lacey, and Larry; and his great grandchildren, Cannon, Lucille, Brooklyn, Harmony, Addlyn, and Luxxen. He is also survived by his brothers, Lawrence (Dyan), Herman (Diane), Ronald (Joann), and Roy (Peggy); his sisters, Sesi, Shirley, Janice, Elizabeth (Kevin), Josie, and Theresa (Sky); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Jake, Joe, and Raymond Swamp.
