Elder Fall Fest Spotlights Elder Abuse Held at Kawehnoke Recreation

Last Tuesday, November 15th, there was a Fall Festival for Elders in the community at Kawehnoke Recreation. This year a grant was received from New Horizons and the province of Ontario to set up an event that provided information regarding elder abuse. Booths were set up that included a variety of information and resources about elderly abuse, how to prevent it, and the necessary steps to take if you or someone you know are experiencing abuse. There was also a traditional meal served that included corn soup, fried bread, hash, macaroni salad, corn, and dessert.
