The Research Foundation for SUNY, a private, not-for-profit Corporation invites applications for a (grant funded) Administrative Assistant in TRiO Student Support Services. Duties will include, 1) Office organization, filing, and maintaining the master calendar; 2) Desktop publishing of flyers and brochures; 3) Responsible for the maintenance of the participant database and compilation of the TRiO SSS statistical data; 4) Typing program correspondence, proposals, budgets and reports; 5) Taking incoming telephone calls and messages, responding to students’ queries and establishing a supportive environment for participants; 6) Assisting the Director with maintaining the State and Federal budgets for TRiO SSS. 7) Supervising work-study students and assisting with payroll paperwork for tutors and mentors.
An Associate’s degree in secretarial science or some college-level training in office management, computer skills and bookkeeping, at least two years of work experience in a higher education setting and strong interpersonal and communication skills. It is desirable that the successful candidate has experience in using the Microsoft suite of products, knowledge of Banner, and experience in working with federally-funded programs, especially TRiO.
