A Voice from the Eastern Door
The annual ceremony took place last Friday, November 11, 2016, Veterans Day, at the American Legion Post 1479 in Hogansburg where Veterans gathered to honor the sacrifices made by their comrades.
While the uniformed members of the American Legion stood at attention, the Commanders and Chaplains of the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion read about the members of the Armed Forces who lost their lives on the battlefield or were never found. In their honor the 21 Gun Salute was given and after the ceremony a meal was served inside the hall.
The rest of the afternoon was socializing with card games, shuffleboard and stories and memories of their time in the Military and of those who we lost.
