A Voice from the Eastern Door
5 week session
Where good food and good company becomes a great nutritious meal.
What is a Collective Kitchen?
A collective kitchen involves a group of people that: meets regularly to cook affordable meals, and takes the meals home for themselves or their families.
Why join a collective kitchen?
It’s about much more than coming together to plan and prepare nutritious meals. Collective Kitchens are a place where people come to have fun, socialize, share ideas and improve cooking skills. Cooking meals together saves both time and money.
How does it benefit group participants?
A collective kitchen offers opportunities to:
• learn and share skills in budgeting, planning, shopping, and preparing healthy food;
• make healthy, tasty, affordable meals;
• try new and diverse foods;
• save money through bulk buying, using seasonal foods, and cost sharing;
• save time (food is prepared in large quantities and frozen for later use); and,
• meet and socialize with new people.
