Niawen

The Kanikonhri:io I:wa ne Ona':ke (Canoe & Kayak Club) members would like to thank the Akwesasne community and local businesses for supporting our efforts to raise money to attend the 2016 "Paddle to Nisqually" in Washington State. The invitation from the Nisqually Tribe was sent to the Onondagas and was extended to Akwesasne to try to get all Six Nations into the canoe. We were able to send five members from Akwesasne with the money raised to participate with the Haudenosaunee canoe journey paddle to Nisqually.

This journey was a big life-changing experience for our youth who travelled across the country to participate in a spiritual healing canoe journey. This event was for all ages, male or female to help one deal with whatever challenges one may deal with in life.

Our youth had an opportunity to meet many people from other nations and share cultural exchanges in traditional songs and dance. This life changing experience will be with them forever.
