FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION OPERATIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAM
Salary Level: SP-03 - $56,203.37 - $58,451.51
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBLITIES:
Under the supervision of the Manager the Health & Safety Coordinator (HSC) will be responsible to ensure that the MCA organization is complying with the standards of Health & Safety under the Canada Labour Code Part II and prescribed regulations as well as provincial legislation that is applicable to the MCA’s organization. The HSC will be responsible for creating and administering a Workplace Health and Safety Management Program (WHSMP) for MCA that includes the workplace and construction. The WHSMP will include the development of policies, programs, standards, procedures (aka SOP’s) and or administrative directives for implementation by the employees of MCA. The HSC must also maintain a working knowledge of the applicable legislation to meet requirements as identified under various agreements in which MCA enters into (this may include but not limited to Contribution Agreements, Funding Agreements, License to Operate requirements, etc.) The HSC is required to ensure that the work being carried out within MCA is conducted in a safe manner and within established standards. It is within the authority of the Health & Safety Coordinator to issue “Stop Work Orders” as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post Secondary Degree in the field of Health & Safety (or a related field i.e.: Business Administration, Human Resources Management).
• Five (5) to ten (10) years work experience in the Health & Safety field.
• Must meet the requirements of MCA’s Fleet Administrative Directive for driving: Five (5) years driving experience and submit a driver abstract.
