A Voice from the Eastern Door

Making Lily-Anna's Dream a Reality

Submitted by Marie Morrell

The 5th Annual Seaway Train show, held at the Long Sault Arena on the 16th and 17th of July, brought over two thousand people. Train show organisers were Rudy Tabak and Marie Morrell, better know as Founder of Parade of Nations for Developmentally Challenged Artistically Inclined.

This year's recipient is a seven year old blind girl, Lily-Anna King, whose big wish it is to go for a ride on the Polar Express with her family. The ride is from Cochrane to Moosonee, Ontario. Marie told Lily-Anna she was a very precious and special girl who is closer to Mother Earth than most people since she hears, smells and feels things more than most of us will ever be able to. Lily-Anna loves to sing, dance, scribble, knows Braille, listens to and reads stories. Marie also told Lily-Ann her only limits are those she personally imposes on herself; therefore the sky is her limit.

Marie is hoping to get a bit more money to send the whole family with her since Lily-Anne wants everyone on board the Polar Express, including her little dog if she can take him along. She had dreamt about this trip for over three years now. All the money from raffles is going toward this special endeavor.

To make Lily-Anna's dream become a reality, you can send a cheque payable to Parade of Nations, at 1621 Joyce Street, Cornwall, Ontario K6J 1Y8 or donate through Pay Pal at http://www.paradeofnations.com. Please contact Marie at 613-936-6873 if you have additional questions.
