MASSENA – Mrs. Christina M. Boardman, 52, of 28 Pine Street, Massena, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 22, 2016, at her home.
Christina was born March 18, 1964 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Kenneth Tarbell and Frances Bishop and was raised by her stepfather, Ernest Gushlaw. She attended Beekmantown School District and graduated from Peru Central. She attended Clinton Community College graduating with a Liberal Arts Degree and also was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA. In 1992, she married Timothy C. Boardman in Beekmantown with Judge Leo Mannard, officiating; he predeceased her in 2007.
She enjoyed beading, painting, and working with leather. She was a free spirited gypsy woman that loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
Christina is survived by her three daughters, Stephanie Boardman of Plattsburgh; Natausha Boardman of Massena; and Samantha Boardman of Plattsburgh; 8 grandchildren; and her parents, Frances and Ernest Gushlaw of Fort Meade, FL. In addition, she is survived by three brothers, Tony and Faye Gushlaw of FL; Michael and Lauri Gushlaw of Winter Haven, FL; and John and Carol Gushlaw of Lake Wales, FL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends called on Wednesday at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena. A graveside service was held at Tarbell Family Cemetery, McGee Road, Akwesasne.
