The Lady Devils team has mainly Akwesasne players on its roster and they play in the Cornwall League. Last week they defeated Stradwicks Flooring 2-1 in Glen Walter. Jenna Prieur scored their first half goal as she kicked the ball while running in from the corner. She sent it past two defenders to get them on the scoresheet.
Iastha Porter scored their second as she booted the ball high just over the outstretched hands of Stradwick's goalie Kaitlyn Brownlee. Jen Bankley scored the loan goal for Stradwicks.
The other local team in the Cornwall League – the Stars - are the defending Division Two Champions and last week they defeated MacLeans Block 7-1. Sky Timmons, Taylor Francis and Sarah Belmore scored two each in that win. In addition to switching to goalie for the second half Kelby Mitchell scored once.
