MOIRA/AKWESASNE – Mr. Keldon P. Herne, 32, tragically passed away early Friday morning, May 27, 2016 from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Melbourne, Florida, where he had been living for the past several years.
Keldon was born January 16, 1984 in Massena, the son of Belson and Theresia DuCote Herne. He graduated from Salmon River Central School in 2002 followed by graduating from Clinton Community College. In September 2013, he married Jamie Ward Palmeri in Lake George, New York.
Keldon was currently the parts manager at a RV Center in Melbourne. He had previously worked in security at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and while in college at the Pizza Hut in Plattsburgh. Keldon had a great passion for motorcycles and loved watching motorcycle racing. He also loved working with his hands, RC cars, watching NASCAR, and going to stock car races at Frogtown when he lived locally. When he was in school he was an avid hockey, lacrosse, and soccer player. Keldon loved life in Florida and being near the beach where he would enjoy beach fishing.
Keldon is survived by his wife, Jamie; his sons, Kainen, age 6 and Kamdon, age 2; his step-daughters, Autumn, Alex, Paige, and Brooke; his parents, Belson and Theresia of South Bombay; his siblings, Colby Herne of Bombay; Keena-Marie and Dylan Herne of Winthrop; Shaylin and Taylin Herne, both at home; his nephew, Archer Thompson-Herne; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends called Wednesday, June 1st, at the home of his parents, Belson and Theresia Herne, 47 County Route 32, South Bombay, where a celebration of his life will be held Thursday 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may direct donations to the funeral home for an educational trust fund being established for his sons.
