AKWESASNE – Mr. Cody T. "Tiohatehkwen" Curotte, 37, of 198 McGee Road, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2016 at Massena Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Cody was born April 26, 1979 in Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Roy O. Curotte and the late Belva Montour Curotte.
Cody was an ironworker with Local 711 in Montreal until becoming disabled due to failing health. He enjoyed fishing and when he was younger playing hockey and lacrosse. He was as a member of the Mohawk Warrior Society.
He is survived by his daughters who were the joy of his life, Kanerahtonkie Boots-Francis, Matteah May Boots-Curotte, Kira Boots-Curotte, and Lyric Boots; his father, Roy of Akwesasne; his sisters, Emma Curotte and Viki Curotte, both of Akwesasne; his brother, Jonah Curotte of Kahnawake; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Belva Curotte on April 14, 1994.
Friends called on Saturday at Kanienkehaha Kanonsesneh where funeral services were held Monday. Cremation followed.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital or a local dialysis center of your choice.
