Canton-17, SR-6

The Shamrock eight-year winning streak ended on Thursday in Canton when the Golden Bears rallied to a convincing 17-6 win.

"I'm not sure what to say right now. I've never been in this position before," said SR coach Jim Barnes. "I had a feeling on the bus before the game that we might be in trouble today. We were a little slow, a little lackadaisical and it showed. Give Canton the credit. They came with a lot of energy. They had the fire."

Skkylar Thomas led the Shamrock offense with two goals and two assists. Raienteres Oakes tallied two goals while Cash Mitchell and Tanner Tarbell each produced a goal and Norman King recorded two helpers. Troi Benedict turned aside seven shots for Salmon River.

"Streaks end" said Barnes. "We knew this was going to be a tough game and if we had to lose, it's better to lose now than in playoffs. In that way, it's good this happened. This is a first for all of us and how we react is going to be important."
