Woman Found Unresponsive in St. Regis

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police were called around 7:30 pm, Monday April 25 after a female was found unresponsive in a home located in the village of St. Regis, Akwesasne, Quebec. Officers responded and located a female unresponsive in the bedroom of the residence. The female was transported by ambulance to Ormstown Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police have identified the female as Tammy Patricia Oakes, 40, of Akwesasne.

Investigators were called to the scene. Police will not know the cause of death until a post mortem examination is conducted later this week. The scene has since been processed and released. Police believe there are no overtly suspicious circumstances associated with Oakes’s death and no threat to the general public.
