RECREATION & LEISURE AIDE

Pay Band: HS -10: $35,420.66 – $36,837.48

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Recreation and Leisure Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation and implementation of activities and programs designed to meet the physical, psychological, social, recreational and spiritual needs of the residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary diploma or degree from an approved program in the areas of recreation/leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or other related field or are enrolled in a diploma or degree program in such a field.

Safe Food Handlers Certificate.

First Aid – CPR, Level C

GPA Training (Gentle Persuasive Approaches)

One (1) to three (3) years experience in a long term care facility and caring for the elderly;

Previous experience with meal service, as required.
