AKWESASNE – Mr. Lloyd Nelson Pierce, 77, of 49 County Route 45, peacefully passed into the Spirit World with his loving family by his side on Monday evening, March 21, 2016 at his home.
Lloyd was born January 5, 1939 in Duxbury, Massachusetts, the son of the late Luther and Lottie Hunt Pierce and graduated from Tantasqua High School in Brimfield, Massachusetts. He served the US Navy patrolling the shores of Cuba during the Korean Conflict. On April 26, 1974, he married Marie C. Gray in Miami, Oklahoma with Rev. Floyd Hearne officiating.
Lloyd worked for various companies throughout the country over the years; he was an oil driller in Wyoming, drove a food truck in California, and was a chef at various restaurants. Among his many jobs, his greatest profession was a salesman. He enjoyed watching car races, boxing, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Lloyd truly enjoyed visiting with his friends and no one was ever a stranger to him.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Marie; 3 children, Maria Lorraine Pierce, Lloyd N. Jr. and Cherrie Pierce, and James John and Patricia Pierce, all of Akwesasne and his grandchildren, William Joseph, James John Jr., Jasmine Maria, Montana Lawrence, Shelby Ann, Chyleigh and Jerzey Pierce. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucille Pierce-Fergus of Agawam, MA; Lorraine Pierce-Kozak of Springfield, MA; and Geraldine Paradise of MA; his brothers, Charles Richard Pierce of Fiskdale, MA; Lennie Paradise of CT; his chosen brother and best friend of 50 years, Bob Corriveau; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Luther, Lawrence, and Roland Pierce and his sisters, Leona and Lila Pierce.
