AMPS AND EMERGENCY SERVICE PERSONNEL REMIND COMMUNITY OF DANGEROUS ICE

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and Emergency Services personnel would like to remind parents, residents and children that use of Akwesasne’s frozen rivers and ponds is unsafe. We want to avoid any accidents relating to the use of our rivers and ponds. With the warming temperatures in the upcoming weeks, please avoid all travel on ice.

Please be advised that the Ice Breaking dates in the area of Akwesasne for the Lake St. Francis/ St. Lawrence River area will be between March 20, 2016 until March 23, 2016.

If you see any suspicious activity on the ice or water, please report to the MCA Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services at 613-575-2000 or the SRMT Tribal Police at 518-358-9200.
