Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop in Canton on Saturday, April 9

Learn how to produce your own fruit trees inexpensively, or preserve the lineage of an old apple tree growing on your property. Join Cornell Master Gardener Volunteer Don O’Shea, a long-time tree grafter with over 25 years of experience, for a half-day workshop on Saturday, April 9 from 9AM-noon at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm, 2043 Route 68, Canton. Participants will learn about tree biology as well as the tools, techniques and materials needed to successfully graft trees. The class includes bench grafting demonstrations in the classroom, and a top-working demonstration on established trees outdoors. There is a small fee and pre-registration is required.
