Salmon River Central School District Kicks Off Macy's Believe Campaign

(Fort Covington, NY) — The “Believe Campaign” has kicked off in Salmon River CSD. From now until December 11, 2015 for every “letter to Santa” that is received, Macy’s Department store will donate $1 to Make-a-Wish Foundation, up to a million dollars. Last year, Salmon River staff, students and community raised over $2,500.

“Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, we encourage community members to please consider taking a few moments to contribute a letter to help make a local child’s wish come true,” said Elementary School Teacher Nichole Howard. “Students in our school district have benefitted personally from the Make-a-Wish Foundation, so we have seen the difference this can make in a child’s life.”

Participants can visit the following websites to design a letter, print it out and then bring it to school. Macy’s http://social.macys.com/believe/#/createyourletter or e-mail Santa website (http://www.emailsanta.com/email_santa.asp). Participants can also hand-write their letter on paper and return it to school. Letters do not have to be in an envelope.

All letters received in a stamped envelope addressed to “Santa, The North Pole” with a return address will get a letter back.

Students and adults may drop off their letter to their teacher, or in the Elementary, Middle School or High School office. The campaign begins Monday November 30th and will conclude on Friday December 11th (National Believe Day).
