A Voice from the Eastern Door
Domestic animals in the area of Cook Road, Phillips Road and Cree Road in Akwesasne have been attacked by roaming dogs. On the Cree residence alone, they have had to deal with several of their farm animals and pets being attached and some so viciously the farm animal had to be euthanized. Since August the Cree's have lost an alpaca, a pig and an Arabian horse due to packs of dog coming onto their farm and attacking the farm animals.
According to one witness, "I'm worried, the dogs attacked a pig and a pig is the closest to a human in many ways, those dogs have had a taste of blood and what will stop them from attacking a child whose is playing outside or an elder going for an evening walk?
