The American Cuesports Alliance: Akwesasne Billiards Club finished up the 8th season. Congratulations to the players who played and qualified to travel and play in the national tournaments. The league played over 18 weeks from June to October. Thank you for sponsorship 37 West, Brasshorse, Hogan Legion and Gardners. The league finished October 7th. In league play, here are the standings 1st-37 West 1, 2nd-Gardners, 3rd-37 West 3, 4th-Brasshorse 2, 5th-Brasshorse 3, 6th-Brasshorse 4, 7th-Hogan Legion 1, 8th-Hogan Legion 2. 9th 37 West 2 and 10th Brasshorse 1. Playoffs were held at Brasshorse lounge. Over 8 rounds, teams battled to get to the final position as champion. The final 3 teams in playoffs are: Brasshorse 2 placed 3rd, 37 West 1 placed 2nd and Gardners placed 1st, undefeated in the tournament. The final chart is posted for viewing.
There were Most Valuable Players for every team, they are as follows: MVP 37 West 1: David Sunday Jr., MVP Gardners: Joe Herne, MVP 37 West 3: Chase Sunday, MVP Brasshorse 2: Kelly Cook, MVP Brasshorse 3: Kurt Terrance, MVP Brasshorse 4: Matt Cook, MVP Hogan Legion 1: Corey Oakes, MVP Hogan Legion 2: Jimmy Sunday
A word from the President: "I am so proud of everyone in the ACS Akwesasne League. The calibre of players in the league has grown tremendously. I hope that you take your skills to the next level and visit the Championship accessible at americancuesports.org and cdnqsport.com ACS qualified players can participate in the teams and singles and scotch doubles, although anyone can buy in and play in singles without having to qualify for it. Let me or the other executive team members know if you are interested in participating in Nationals. There will be teams going to Las Vegas again. Fundraising meetings will begin soon. I would like to thank the executive for all of the work they have done to make this league a success, Mel Jacobs and Ilona Thompson.
