The WWOS Ottawa Committee escorted the bundle as it was transferred from Ottawa to the WWOS Akwesasne Committee. The Akwesasne Women Singers sang during the welcoming. The bundle is now housed at Iethinestha until it is transferred to the Kawehnoke Recreation Center on Sunday, November 1, 2015. The Pie Making Class that was held in support by the MCA Diabetes prevention program, NYSHN, and Seven Dancers Coalition. Chelsea Francis and Charlotte Swamp facilitated the class and education was provided on domestic violence prevention. Attendees made purple ribbons in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month. Awareness to domestic violence is one key element in ending Missing and Murdered Women tragedy.
Opening on November 6, 2015, the Walking With Our Sisters commemorative art installation for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women/Girls/ Two-Spirits in Canada and the USA. The installation will be at the Kawehnoke Recreation Center from November 6 to November 27, 2015. The ceremony for Families Only will be held on November 6 from 9am to 1pm and the Opening Ceremony is from 1 to 4pm on November 6, 2015.
