Position: Per Diem Receptionist/Office Clerk
Status: Per Diem
Reports to: General Manager
The Per Diem Receptionist/Office Clerk is under the direct supervision and direction of the General Manager. This is a per diem (on-call) position and the hours would be for regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. As the first point of contact the receptionist must greet all visitors to CKON in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
2. Receptionist answers all incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner and directs calls or takes messages for the appropriate individual.
3. The receptionist handles radio requests, dedications and “In Memoriam” for the radio announcers for airing.
4. The receptionist does printouts for the Daily Morning Horoscopes.
5. It is the receptionist’s responsibilities to maintain a log of all incoming and outgoing mail and faxes and forward mail to the appropriate individual.
6. The receptionist prepares the Community Calendar, Job Watch and the Trading Post for broadcast.
7. As part of the Job Watch, the receptionist accepts job watch submissions via walk-in or email. The receptionist must maintain organized details for the job watch to prepare billing information to the Finance Office for proper invoicing on a monthly basis.
8. The weekly radio bingo cards, 50/50 bingo cards and bingo daubers are sold by the receptionist. This requires the ability to make cash transactions and maintain the cash drawer and provide accountability for cash.
9. The receptionist also hands out the 50/50 bingo recipient applications and accepts the completed applications by date stamping when they are received.
10. It is also the receptionist’s duty to distribute bingo winnings during regular bingo hours. This involves verifying the bingo card once presented and providing accurate information of winnings that are picked up.
11. The bingo card giveaways following the weekly bingo session will be picked up at the front desk. The receptionist must maintain the log of those individuals who pick-up their free bingo cards as the free cards are only valid for the following bingo session.
12. The receptionist must also maintain a log of all prize winners for free tickets to events, concerts, etc.
13. The receptionist must print all flyers and emails for community events and initiatives and put information in community calendar or prepare for booth announcements. The flyers are to be posted in-house.
14. The receptionist also monitors the CKON email sites for incoming information on community calendar, job watch, and trading post and community events.
15. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications: Must have excellent time management skills, have a pleasing and courteous personality. The receptionist must possess the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comprehensive computer and mathematical skills are a requirement. Speaking the Mohawk language would be an asset as would previous experience in front desk/receptionist duties.
