A Voice from the Eastern Door

North Franklin AA Squirts

The local North Franklin hosted a club from Ottawa last weekend but the guests overstayed their welcome with 8-4 and 6-1 wins.

The Ottawa Sting were in town and took both games in Fort Covington Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday they built up a 3-0 first period lead.

4:10 into the second period Carey Terrance Jr. scored their only goal as he picked up a loose puck at Ottawa's blue line and sent a wrist shot past the Stings goalie Eamon Charles.

Toward the end of the first period Terrance had two chances to make it a 3-3 game as he was denied on a breakaway with twenty seconds left and ten seconds later was stopped alone in front of the net.

In that middle period Ottawa counted with two and scored once in the third for the win.

Despite the lopsided score North Franklin held their ground well as Caiden Cartier broke up a 3 on 1 Ottawa breakaway late in the third period.
