SUNY Potsdam Job Posting Coordinator of Native American Affairs

The Center for Diversity (CFD) at SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for a Coordinator of Native American Affairs whose primary focus will be programming initiatives designed to increase recruitment, retention, and graduation rate of Native American students. This includes maintaining close working relationships with Native communities across the State, particularly Akwesasne Mohawks. The Coordinator works closely with the Potsdam Association of Native Americans (PANA) and other student groups in the CFD, assist the Modern Language department related to offering Mohawk language courses, act as the Faculty Liaison on the Native American Teaching Initiative grant with the School of Education and Professional Studies and the Crane School of Music, and work with other campus units and external organizations to provide services and programs that promote and expand inclusive excellence at SUNY Potsdam. This position requires some evening and weekend duties along with periodic travel. A bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university and professional experience working with students from diverse backgrounds is required. Preference given to applicants with professional experience working with Native American students, Masters’ degree in Education, Counseling Psychology, Higher Education Administration, or related field, and at least five years’ experience.
