Getting a delicious meal to go while helping local athletes shine on the national scene was on the menu last Friday.
Sarah Thompson is going to a Native Lacrosse tournament in Calgary, Alberta. She will be competing against other native teams such as Six Nations. Last Friday she held a benefit Indian Taco sale at the Akwesasne Mini-Mart parking lot.
Just down the road at the Kastowah Gas bar a couple of other local boys raised money to attend a Bantam National tournament just down the road from Calgary – Saskatchewan. The chicken was prepared by "Big E"s Everett Lazore and they were gone in half an hour. Both tournaments start July 20.
