A Voice from the Eastern Door
The corner of Route 37 and 37C was very busy last July 4th weekend. The gas station had been opened for a while, but they held their Grand Opening and a lot of people got involved.
The big draw was .15 cents off a gallon of gasoline and cars lined up around the parking lot to get in on this. There were so many cars lined up that the gas pumps couldn't take the heat and tripped, but all waited patiently and got their juice.
A new local airhouse business called FunZone opened up recently and they provided a bounce house which the kids enjoyed and several draws were made. There were several hamburger and hot dog grills going to feed the crowd and the CKON 97.3 Road Crew was on hand.
When the gas customers got their fuel they got in on the door prizes. These included a 50 inch flat screen, Bikes, Barbecue grill, Fishing tackle and many other summertime fun items.
Jonathan Lazore donated a rocking bench to the gas bar and they decided instead to donate it to Baby Alex "The Warrior" who is undergoing cancer treatment at the Children's Hospital in Ottawa. Over $250.00 was raised on this draw and the winner was Dawn Jacobs.
