Qualifications: College graduate with an appropriate field of study, i.e. human services, social work, counseling, education or related supervisory work experience in job development, financial aid assistance, and vocational assessment.
Experience may be substituted for education. Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
Preference given to those with knowledge of local Native American Community.
Duties: Provide job counseling and orientation to the world of work for direct and indirect placement into unsubsidized employment for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiians in Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Livingston and Wayne counties.
Conduct outreach and referral when appropriate. Maintains quarterly contact with the One Stop Systems in the service area and carries out activities as outlined in the Memorandums of Understanding with the Workforce Investment Boards.
Attend appropriate WIA trainings and meetings for service providers in Monroe and other counties as needed.
Selects, matches, and develops training program objectives and placement of clients and monitors participant work/job sites.
Create Individual Employment Plans [IEP] for program participants including training, resume writing, and job seeking plans. Monitors and reports individual participation outcomes. Provides additional supportive services to eligible participants to obtain and retain employment.
Maintain client records. File GED, CRT, and SYS timesheets, intake records, and status sheets.
Provide relevant news articles and employment data for all service counties.
Perform duties consistent with employment and training objectives.

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience
