Jacob Bero and Zach Smith received many awards at the SRCS Awards Night. Some of Mr. Bero's awards included RPI Institute Award, Elmira College Key Award, Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering Award and U of Albany Multicultural High School Achievement Award. Mr. Smith earned the Clarkson University Leadership Award, the Daughters of the American Revolution Award, U of Rochester Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony Award and the U of Albany Multicultural High School Achievers Award.
Colonie Gray received the coveted hammer that goes to the Outstanding Earth Science Student. Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Andrea Martin, presented the award on behalf of Earth Science teacher, Mr. Bradley Pendergraft.
Karonies Thompson received the Title VII Award of Excellence from Ms. Fox. This award goes to the student who shows excellence in the Kanien'keha:ka language and culture.
Quintana Hart received the awards from the Adirondack Chapter of NYSASBO Business Award and the SRC Administrator's Award.
Valedictorian, Breana Griffin and Salutatorian, Ciera Jock received the New York State Comptroller Achievement Award. Ms. Griffin also was awarded the Sandy Cook Citizenship Award while Ms. Jock received the John Phillip Sousa Band Award.
Enigoose Jock was presented the Hawley-Miller Native American Scholarship presented by Mrs. Andrea Martin.
SRCS Senior Student/Athlete Awards went to Steven Tremblay, Destiny Thomas and Chance Monette. These students are three sport athletes while managing their academics. Stephan Tremblay was also awarded the Thomas Ghostlaw Memorial Scholarship for his participation on the SRCS Varsity Hockey team.
Perfect Attendance Awards went to Ian Leduc, Krista Walrath, Shawn Brown and Mackenzie Phelix. Missing were Korri Printup, Thomas Kerr, Isaiah Humiston and Zachery Pickering.
Fort Covington American Legion Post #1418 Award went to Kelsie Lauzon and Marc Mainville. Their fathers, Thomas Lauzon and Matt Mainville presented the awards.
On Wednesday, May 3rd, Salmon River High School celebrated its students during the annual High School Awards Ceremony.
To start things off, Clair Russell, Senior Class President, led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Principal Mike Warden welcomed parents and students to the event and congratulated students on their achievements. Guidance Counselors Andrea Martin and Rachelle Hayes were on hand to present awards to the students. Salmon River Alumnus and local radio celebrity, Sandy Cook, graciously donated his time to emcee for the night.
The first award of the night was to recognize and honor Valedictorian, Breana Griffin and Salutatorian, Ciera Jock with a plaque to commemorate their achievement as class leaders.
