Malone-based state police charged four youths from Snye after they allegedly vandalized a Fort Covington barn and posted a video of them in the act on social media.
Truman R. Square, 16, of Snye, Que., and three juvenile males, also from Snye, Que., ages 12, 11, and 10, were each charged with a felony count of criminal mischief on the evening of April 19.
Troopers said Square used a social media site to post a video of him and three juveniles damaging the barn’s contents. The victim saw the video and contacted state police. The quartet allegedly broke windows, damaged a tractor and milk machine and slashed seed bags.
State police soon located and arrested Square and his alleged accomplices. Square was additionally charged with third-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of damaging items inside the barn in a separate incident April 17.
Square was arraigned in Fort Covington Court and released under supervision of the Franklin County Probation Department. The three juveniles were petitioned to Family Court.
