Akwesasne Winter Carnival

MCA Department of Tehotiiennawakon Environment Display

On Sunday at the St. Regis Mohawk School, MCA's Department of Tehotiiennawakon hosted several organizations and activities for an environmental display.

Parks Canada, SRMT Environment, OPG, South Nation Conservation, Raisin River Conservation and St. Lawrence River Institute were just some of the many groups there.

In the cafeteria, Francis Scardera did a presentation on archeology in Akwesasne.

Did you know that the oldest archeological site in Akwesasne is about 9,000 years old, and they estimate that about 100,000 artifacts have been found in Akwesasne, but many have been taken without permission.
