A Voice from the Eastern Door

3rd Annual 4H Mentoring - Love Our Family Pasta Bash

By Connie Gerow, 4H Site Coordinator

It's that time of year to share the love. And, 4H Little Mohawks and Mighty Shamrocks are preparing to share their love with their family members. The invitation is extended to their immediate family members to come to the 3rd annual 4H Love Our Family Pasta Bash. This family night outing is "free" and scheduled from 6-8pm on Wednesday, February 11th at Salmon River Central School High School Cafeteria.

From learning to set the table, to making a salad, preparing brownies, to working as a team to host, serve and clean up, are many of the life skills the 4H members will be engaged in. The menu of spaghetti, salad, bread/rolls, butter, milk/water, ice cream and brownies, will be served by the 4H Members. Prior to the beginning of the meal, 4H members will welcome families, present each of the flags (American, Haudenosaunee and 4H) with a recitation given by members.

As this is FREE dinner for 4H Tribal Mentoring families, a donated item will be accepted for the local food pantry (non-perishable product such as canned foods, boxes of cereals, peanut butter and jellies). Or donate an item for the Animal Shelter (old towels, blankets, plastic bags, kitty litter or many types of toys or treats).

4H Tribal Mentoring Families are reminded to reserve their table soon by Friday, February 6th by connecting to the Cornell Cooperative Extension website http://franklin.cce.cornell.edu/ and connecting to the Love Our Family Pasta Bash. Or, one may call Connie @ 518-358-4271 or Abby @ 518-483-7403.
