A Voice from the Eastern Door
Last Thursday, a heartwarming scene took place at the shop of Andria Cooke. Logan Mitchell, daughter of Keith Mitchell, went to pick up a puppy that is sure to be seen around this spring. Logan stopped at Smoking Arrow last Wednesday morning to check out the cutest little Shih-Tzu you've ever seen. Later that evening, Keith stopped in and saw the puppy as well.
Andria's kennel carries Maltese, Pomeranian, Poodle and Shih-Tzu puppies when her pairs have litters every one or two years. The little Shih-Tzu would usually be sold for $350.00, but Andria didn't charge the Mitchells. Andria said, "Keith went everywhere with his dog. He needs a dog, and I thought, 'I'm going to give him a little sidekick.'"
So, on Thursday afternoon, Logan came in to pick up the puppy, and it would be a surprise for Keith, as he didn't know she was bringing him home. There's no name yet for the puppy, as the Mitchell family will base the puppy's name on his demeanor, but he is all set for his first Superbowl as Logan had bought him a Patriot's jersey.
Logan said, "I want to thank Andria a lot." She couldn't wait to get home to surprise her father.
You wouldn't think there was a kennel at Smoking Arrow, which is why soon there will be a new name and a new sign for Andria's shop. "TotaMa's Natural Medicines and Dog Kennel," will more reflect what Andria carries. She sells herbs, oils, vitamins, gifts, dog food and puppies.
"I'm just so glad that I can be the one to give them a puppy," added Andria.
