On Friday, January 16, 2015, the 8th Annual Russell "Hoss" Memorial Dance was held at the American Legion to benefit the St. Regis Catholic Church. The dance was well attended with over 25-raffle baskets won throughout the evening. Mitchell family members, church supporters and those who wanted to have a good time, danced to three different bands during the evening; the River Mohawk Band, Rez Nation and T.J. Jackson and the To Memphis and Back Band.
The St. Regis Catholic Church hold regular fundraising events throughout the year. Some of their biggest events include their Annual Golf Tournament and their recent Chili Cook-off held at Kateri Hall. Minerva White, Chairperson for the Fundraising Committee, was pleased with the turnout and support given by the Akwesasne Community. This evening raised over $2900.00 for the St. Regis Catholic Church.
