Massena Girls Basketball

The Massena Lady Raiders basketball contingent recently added a second win to their 2014-2015 record, but not before falling to Brushton-Moira and Ogdensburg.

Massena 50, Plattsburgh 25

The visiting Lady Raiders doubled their hosts' offense during the recent Section 7-10 Challenge in Plattsburgh.

They led 20-12 at halftime and ran away in the third quarter, outscoring 20-6.

Bailee Young led the winning offense with 15 points, including three three-pointers. Kelly Southwick garnered seven points. Sydnee Carroll and Stephanie McKeel each nailed six points. Devin Kelly recorded five, Meghan Villnave four and Jaylee Jones three. Lexus Jacobs and Maeve Curran each contributed two points.

OFA 56, Massena 43

Massena fell to the Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils on Dec. 20 at the Ben Cordwell Memorial Tournament.

Bailey Young topped off Massena's scoresheet with 10 points. Maeve Curran followed with eight. Bailey Jones and Megan Villnave each added seven points to the scoreboard.

Brushton-Moira 49, Massena 38

The Lady Raiders lost their grip on a 12-7 first quarter lead to end up trailing at the buzzer by 11 points.

Bailey Young paced Massena's offense with 14 points. Lexis Jacobs garnered nine and Jaylee Jones pitched in seven. Devin Kelly scored three points, while Maeve Curran and Sydnee Carroll scored two points each. Sophia Rusaw completed a free throw.
