AKWESASNE MEMBERSHIP BOARD NOTICE

The following non-members have applied for permission to reside in the Akwesasne community under the Akwesasne Residency Law.

Ricky Clause, age 60, is registered with Six Nations, wishes to reside on Kawehnoke.

Kristin Lee Blasiak, age 29, non-native, wishes to reside in Tsi Snaihne.  She is the spouse of Toby Lazore.

Courtney Patricia Donaher, age 28, non-native, wishes to reside on Kawehnoke.  She is the spouse of Jeremy (Bero) Thompson.

Community Members have until Friday, January 2, 2015 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above individuals by contacting the Office of Vital Statistics.

At the Akwesasne Membership Board’s meeting of November 8, 2014, the Membership Board granted full Akwesasne Membership to Shayla Cook, Logan Ransom and Cheyenne Jacobs.  The Board granted Probationary Membership to Crystal Henry, and Probationary Membership and a Residency Permit for one year for Brandon Francis-Forgues.  The Membership application of Tristan Point was cancelled.

Community members wishing to appeal the Membership Board’s decisions on the above applicants have 30 days to appeal to the Council of Elders by contacting the Office of Vital Statistics.  The Office of Vital Statistics is located at the Cornwall Island Administration Building #3, and can be contacted by calling (613) 575-2250 ext. 1011
