Homicide of David "Tawit" Benson Hopps

(Cornwall Island, Ontario) - The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service advises that the Post Mortem examination has been completed on Mr. Hopps, and they await the Toxicology and Pathologist’s Reports.

The cause of death will not be released at this time. Chief of Police Jerry Swamp states that, “The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service is requesting that the public respect the family’s need for privacy in this difficult time”.

Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service officers arrested Rachel Bertha FENN, aged 39 years, of Summerstown, Ontario, and Christopher Philip BALDWIN, aged 31 years, of Westport, Ontario, on December 1st, 2014. Both subjects appeared in Ontario Court of Justice, Cornwall, Ontario and were remanded until December 5th, 2014. They were charged with Second Degree Murder.
