ROBERT T. WARD, SR.

AKWESASNE – Mr. Robert T. Ward, Sr., age 64, of 92 Christine Lane, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 6, 2014 at his home with his daughters by his side.

Robert was born August 21, 1950 in Massena, the son of the late Reubin and Elizabeth Debo Ward and attended schools in Massena.  On June 1, 1985, he married Lucille A. Bero in Rochester.  She predeceased him on July 23, 2011. 

Robert was a self-employed painter and contractor for many years.  He also owned and operated Lucy's Santa Clara Lodge for many years.  He was also an avid E-bayer and enjoyed collecting coins, his cats and spending time with his grandson, Tyson.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer and William Brown and Melissa Ward, all of Akwesasne; his grandson, Tyson; his sister, Elizabeth Ward of Florida; his brothers, Marvin and Irene Ward of St. Regis Falls and Alden Ward of Star Lake; his wife's family, Connie and Jerry Thompson, Loretta Benedict, Walt and Debbie Bero, Carl Bero, Doris Cook, Allen Bero, Eleanor Ransom, and Annie Bero; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was predeceased by his son, Robert Jr. on June 11, 2007 and his sister, Sharon R. Ward on December 8, 2007.

Friends called Sunday, November 9th at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where funeral services were held on Monday, November 10, 2014 with Rev. Anthony Osuji, officiating.  Burial followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Akwesasne.
