Burglary: On Nov. 5, Tribal Police arrested Erik R. Clute, 41, of Franklin, Maine for felony second-degree burglary and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail and $40,000 bond and ordered to return on Dec. 2.
Child endangerment: On Nov. 6, Tribal Police arrested Mathew M. Buckshot, 28, of Hogansburg endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. He was released under supervision of probation authorities and is to re-appear in Bombay Town Court Nov. 24.

Fail to obey police officer: Tribal Police ticketed Cheyenne S. Cole, 22, of Hogansburg , also charging her with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, fail to use head lights and speeding on an unspecified date. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on Dec. 2.
DWI: Tribal Police charged Allen P. Mitchell, 43, of Hogansburg, also charging him with operate motor vehicle with blood alcohol level at .08 percent or more and fail to use designated lane on an unspecified date. Drug possession, resisting arrest: On Oct. 28, Tribal Police say they arrested Elwyn J.C. Jackson, 30, of Akwesasne, N.Y. for resisting arrest, seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and also charged him on a warrant. He was taken to Franklin County Jail, Malone and held, pending action by U.S. Marshals.
Bench warrants: Tribal Police arrested Wade T. Mitchell, 38, of Rooseveltown on an unspecified date. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and released with orders to appear Nov. 25. Tribal Police say they also arrested Lisa M. Mitchell, 33, of Rooseveltown on an unspecified date. She was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and released with orders to appear on Dec. 16. On Nov. 3, Tribal Police arrested Ronald L. Mitchell, 57, of Akwesasne, Quebec. He was arraigned in court and remanded to Franklin County Jail and ordered to return Dec. 2.

Stop sign violation: Tribal Police ticketed Kimberly A. Burns, 51, of Akwesasne, Ontario on an unspecified date. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on Nov. 24.
Inadequate plate lamp: Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Vera K. Dreher, 67, of Hogansburg, also citing operate motor vehicle with obstructed view. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on Nov. 25.
High-speed chase: State troopers say Akwesasne man was jailed on $2,500 bail following a Nov. 1 pursuit that went from state Route 37 in Massena to Raquette Point Road.
State troopers clocked Noah M. Ransom, 18, of Hogansburg going 114 mph in a 45 mph zone on going east on Route 37 around 3 a.m. that day.
The pursuit ended when Ransom crashed on Raquette Point Road.
He was charged with misdemeanors including driving while intoxicated, third-degree fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, refusal to take a breath test and upwards of a dozen traffic infractions.
Troopers also ticketed Ransom for speeding (allegedly 86 in a 55 mph zone), inadequate lights and insufficient tail lights, improper turn, moving from lane unsafely, improper u-turn, driving in the center lane, driving to the left pavement markings, speeding (114/45), speed not reasonable and prudent, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the pavement to pass on the right, failure to comply with a lawful order, failure to use designated lane and driving to the left of pavement markings.
He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
Drug felony: State troopers charged a Hogansburg woman for possessing a felony quantity of narcotics at the Franklin County Jail, Malone. Leah T. Benedict, 37, is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree introducing dangerous prison contraband, both felonies. Troopers say she was charged at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 5 at the jail, 45 Bare Hill Road. Troopers said she was held, pending court action.
Second-degree harassment: Troopers say they charged Noah I. Mitchell, 32, of Hogansburg at 8:49 p.m. Nov. 5 at 239 State Rte. 37, Akwesasne.
IMPAIRED
Cornwall, ON – Michael Thompson, age 47, of Akwesasne, was arrested on November 1, 2014. He was found by Canada Border Service Agency to be in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. Thompson was charged with Care and Control while Impaired and Over .08. He was released to appear in court on November 13, 2014.
Six-Month Investigation Generates Four Arrests
An investigation by the Franklin County Narcotics Task Force, the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police, the Malone Village Police, the Bureau of Indian Affairs Police and the New York State Police netted the arrest of four Hogansburg residents over the past week. The six-month investigation into drug sales in the Malone area expects to produce future arrests as well.
Leah T. Tarbell-Benedict, 38, was arrested Nov. 4 on three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (hydromorphone) and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Tarbell-Benedict was arraigned by Justice C. Curtis Smith in Bombay Town Court and committed to the Franklin County Jail on $15,000 cash bail. Tarbell-Benedict was subsequently charged by New York State Police with first-degree possession of dangerous contraband in a correctional facility and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after she was allegedly found in possession of 14 30-mg capsules Hydromorph Contin, a narcotic pain reliever, while being processed at the Franklin County Jail. She had been arrested the previous day by Malone Village Police.
Stacy Smoke-Square, 39, was arrested on five counts of third-degree criminal sale of marijuana, one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (cocaine) and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned in Franklin County Court in front of Judge Robert G. Main Jr. and released under the supervision of the county Probation Department.
Rachel L. Square, 30, was arrested on one count third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (cocaine) and one count third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned by Justice C. Curtis Smith in Bombay Town Court and committed to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
Phillip Ray Francis, 57, was arrested for one count third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (cocaine) and one count third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned by Bombay Town Court and committed to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
