A Voice from the Eastern Door
With its fun variety of activities for all ages, the Akwesasne Coalition for Community Empowerment celebrated Red Ribbon Week with its annual Minute to Win It Family Game Night on October 29 at the St. Regis Mohawk School. Fourteen teams flooded the gymnasium, which had seventeen games set up to challenge families and individuals to race against each other and the clock. Families were encouraged to wear their team jerseys.

Each participant that completed a challenge was given a ticket which he/she wrote his/her team name on the back and dropped it into a box. All tickets were put into a random drawing where six tickets were pulled to win one of six gift baskets. Each basket was filled with family movies, games and snacks. All programs from the coalition contributed something to the gift baskets.
