The title of the proposed legislation is the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Communications Regulatory Act. The purposes of the Act are to make available efficient, reasonably priced, state-of-the-art communication services to the people of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe; to promote and expand communication services within the area subject to the jurisdiction of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe; and to ensure that all communication services provided within the jurisdiction of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe are consistent with the traditions, customs and desires of the community.
Tribal members may obtain copies in the Tribe’s lobby or may view the document online at http://www.srmt-nsn.gov.
The Tribe is requesting comments on this proposed act. Comments may be submitted in writing to [email protected] or may be submitted at one of the public meetings, either orally or in writing.
The expiration date for the draft comment period is Friday, November 21, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.
The three public meetings on this Act are as follows:
1. Wednesday, October, 29, 2014
2. Wednesday, November 5, 2014
3. Thursday, November 6, 2014
All public meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Tribal Community Building.
The date of the next public meeting at which this Act may be presented for adoption is Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Tribal Council’s regularly scheduled work session.
