GENERAL MEETING RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 9TH

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s General Meeting has been rescheduled from Thursday, Seskehko:wa/September 18th to Thursday, Kentenha/October 9th. The meeting will still be held at the St. Regis Recreation Center beginning at 6:30 pm.

The change in dates is to allow time for portfolio holders and technicians to provide their reports to the community in advance of the General Meeting.

Economic Development will be providing a presentation overviewing the status on all of its current, active files, projects, and initiatives. This will include radio segments and reports in advance of their presentation at the General Meeting.

The Akwesasne Court Law Working Task Group will be holding three information meetings on the draft “Akwesasne Court Law”.

Given these and other General Meeting agenda topics, more time is needed in order to adequately report and prepare materials to be shared-including a reporting on the recent Indigenous Border Security Summit held in Akwesasne. Council encourages community members to attend meetings to receive updates of information.
