Experience Akwesasne: A Community Presentation of Tourism Opportunities - Part 2

Experiencing Akwesasne Planning Committee member Troy Thompson talked about Eco Tourism and shared ideas on the development of the 80 islands Akwesasne has in its possession.

Casey Swamp, Vice Chair of the newly formed Akwesasne Chamber of Commerce said there are 40 businesses in the chamber. "Akwesasne is more than just gas stations and cigarette shops. Building relationships with the surrounding community will benefit us all."

Romaine Mitchell, Powwow Coordinator, talked about the Akwesasne International Powwow and how it is a top ranked event in Canada. "The Akwesasne Powwow is on the map and had 6,000 people attend. I would like to extend an invitation to our neighbors from Quebec and the North Country to come see the powwow."
