Lots of students wore their favorite superhero costume for Hero Week at the Steps to Success Summer Program.
At the Steps to Success summer program, Jozette Gordon "Isis" and Seth Hill "Flo Fox" (back), who make up Fire Magick, taught the kids some tricks with hula-hoops.
Last week, the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club and the Johnson O'Malley "Steps to Success" summer program at the St. Regis Mohawk school celebrated Hero Week. Students came in wearing their favorite superhero costume. Tim Cook is running the program again this year with the help from assistant Zach Bonaparte.
The program had a special guest last Thursday, a duo called Fire Magick.
They travel around and teach kids hula-hoop dance with a focus on health and movement meditation. They did 8 workshops throughout the day at the school.
At night they do a show with the addition of fire, hence the name Fire Magick.
