AMBE SEEKING INTERESTED COMMUNITY MEMBER FROM THE DISTRICT OF KAWEHNO:KE

The Akwesasne Board of Education is seeking an interested community member from the district of Kawehno:ke to fill a one year appointment in the role of Board Member.

Are you interested in making a difference in your child’s (grandchild’s) education? Are you an enrolled member of the Mohawks of Akwesasne? Are you at least 18 years of age? Are you a resident of Kawehno:ke for the last six (6) months? Then consider a seat on the Board of Education. Please note, you cannot be an employee of AMBE.

The board consists of six members, comprised of two elected members from each of the three districts of Akwesasne: Kana:takon, Kawehno:ke and Tsi Snaihne. The role of the board member is to provide leadership and direction for all educational matters. All board members will receive an honorarium for monthly meetings.
