A Voice from the Eastern Door
On Saturday June 28, Swamp's Performance Automotive held the 2nd annual Cruisin' for Kids Car and Bike show. The fundraiser benefits the Akwesasne Freedom School and the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club. This year the event expanded adding vendors, power wheels races and DJ Lauzon. The parking lot at the former IGA was packed despite the heat!
John Francis and the firemen cooked up a chicken barbecue that was for sale and the Akwesasne Freedom School and Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club both had booths selling goodies as well. There were two bounce houses and 46 cars and bikes to admire, more than double last year. Marissa Vickers, Customer Service/Marketing for Swamps said, "We had a lot of help from the community and many businesses. It's an awesome turnout."
