Out and About

I came across a Mohawk Nation Fundraiser on Sun. June 22nd at the crossroads on Kawehnoke (Cornwall Island). Frank David and his volunteer crew were busy selling delicious ribeye steak sandwiches to raise funds for major repairs needed for the Mohawk Nation longhouse. The main floor support beams have decayed to the point of danger of caving in and needs to be replaced with steel beams.  Also the support post that support the beams has also decayed and needs to be replaced. The budget so far is approximately $6 to $10 thousand. This event raised $400.00 towards the repairs and Frank said to please support all the fund drives or create a fund drive in your area.

If you didn't make the benefit but would like to donate, mail it to: Mohawk Nation Office, Attn: Building Fund, State Route 37, Akwesasne, NY 13655. (Ask for a tax deduction receipt if needed.)

Frank also said, "Thank you all for your support thus far. We need your support." And to his family he said, "thank you for the hard work you did, setting up tent, pit, tables, chairs, etc."
