A Voice from the Eastern Door
On April 28th the Salmon River Shamrocks continued their winning ways when they took a commanding 6-1 lead in the first quarter against NAC rival, St. Lawrence Central. The Shamrocks went on to add seven more goals in the second to end the half with a 13-2 lead.
The second half saw the Shamrocks finding the back of the net five more times to defeat the Larries 18-4 to improve their league record 5-0 and 6-0 overall.
Russ Oakes led the Shamrock assault with four goals and two assists, while Skyylar Thomas fired in a solo marker and four helpers. Kyle Lewis and Bryton Burns each scored a pair of goals and an assist. Alan Jacobs, Trenton Tarbell, Frank David added two goals apiece while Dalton Roundpoint, Myles Delormier and Blaze White scored solos.
Tazz Oakes and Darius LaFrance shared goal-keeping duties for the Shamrocks. Tazz played the first half making six saves and Darius played the second half turning aside two shots.
Marshall Berninghausen had three goals and one assist for SLC, while Lucas Arquitt had one goal and one assist.
Kody Kocsis made 10 saves between the pipes for SLC.
The Shamrocks host Saranac Lake on Thursday May 8th and Potsdam on Friday May 9th then round out the week at home on Saturday in a game against Massena at 11:00 a.m.
