ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER

Annual Salary: PT - EHO - $72,119.81 - $73,137.86

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery of environmental health and occupational health & safety programs to communities within the jurisdiction of Mohawk Council of Akwesasne to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation to promote and maintain the highest possible state of health and well-being within the community of Akwesasne.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of a course of full-time instruction in Public Health Inspection or Environmental Health at a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by the Board of Certification Institute of Public Health Inspectors. Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) and a member in good standing with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors. Minimum of two (2) years work experience.

The incumbent should have knowledge of principles and practices of organization, Department of Health Programs; Akwesasne and surrounding areas. Ability to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing; planning, organizing and coordinating; ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and reports; analyzing situation accurately and taking effective actions. Must possess a valid drivers’ license and be willing to use personal vehicle during course of employment. A pre-employment medical/personal health declaration may be required.
